Wayanad: Former Parent Teacher Association (PTA) President Kunjamu revealed that violent activities were commonplace at the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University College and Hostel in Pookode, Wayanad. He further disclosed that CCTV cameras were installed on the campus to prevent violence and other incidents, but SFI activists removed them.
The former PTA President also revealed that there is a room used for assaults in the hostel. Wall paintings and quotes on the hostel walls indicate that it is under the control of SFI activists.
The walls of the hostel are painted with pictures of ‘Che Guevara’, ‘Lenin’, and SFI quotes. It is also said that drawings of liquor bottles painted on the walls reveal the extent of drug usage among hostel students. There are also specially arranged areas for drug and alcohol use.
It is said that the open courtyard of the three-story hostel building was used for lynching and assault.
The former PTA President’s revelation about the domination of SFI activists in the Veterinary University hostel came after Sidharth’s mysterious death. Sidharth, a second-year veterinary student at the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University College in Pookode, Wayanad, was found dead in the University hostel bathroom on February 18th after SFI’s brutal attacks and public mob trial in the hostel.
