Kottayam: Five members of a family were found dead under mysterious circumstances in Kottayam. According to reports, the family, comprising a couple and three children, was found dead at their residence in Poovarani, Pala in Kottayam. It is suspected that Jaison Thomas (44), a native of Njandupara, died by suicide after allegedly killing his wife, Mereena (28), and their three children.
Police have confirmed that Mereena was found hacked to death on the bed, suffering severe head injuries, while their three children – Jerald (4), Jereena (2), and the seven-month-old baby – were reportedly strangled. Jaison, a driver, was found hanging in the house. However, the exact cause of death is yet to be determined. The police arrived at the scene, completed the inquest proceedings, and have launched an investigation into the incident.
