Thrissur: Poet and lyricist Rafeeq Ahmed has reacted to the death of Siddharth, a second-year veterinary student at Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University College in Pookode, Wayanad, who found dead following a public mob trial by SFI activists. He took to Facebook to share a cartoon satirising Kerala’s current state, captioning the post with ‘Siddharth, Sorry’.
The incident occurred on February 18th, when Siddharth was found dead in his hostel washroom after being brutally beaten by SFI activists. Eighteen people have been arrested by the police in connection with the case. Among them, the main accused, Sinjo Johnson, was brought to the hostel to recover the iron rod and belt used in the assault. Today, the Vice-Chancellor will also take statements from the college dean and assistant warden regarding the incident.
