Kozhikode: The forest department has announced emergency financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the family of Pallat Abraham, who died in a wild bison attack in Kakkayam, Kozhikode. Forest Minister AK Saseendran announced the ex gratia, stating that the amount will be handed over on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Chief Wildlife Warden has ordered to tranquilize the bison that killed the man in Kakkayam with a dart. All necessary measures have been taken to strengthen protection in the problem areas and involve more forest guards.
