Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) has announced a significant change in the process for obtaining a driving licence starting tomorrow. In a recent meeting chaired by Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar, it was decided that only 50 individuals would be permitted to attend the driving test at various test centres.
Previously, 150 individuals could undertake the driving test each day, but this number has now been reduced to 50. However, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) has not clarified the criteria for selecting these applicants.
The driving test itself has undergone modifications, with new regulations set to take effect on May 1. One of the key changes requires vehicles used for the test to be equipped with dashboard cameras to record the test process.
