Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has sacked the vice-chancellors of the University of Calicut and Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit. The heads of these institutions were removed citing violations of UGC norms and rules. Calicut University VC MC Jayaraj and Sanskrit University VC Dr M.V. Narayanan were sacked by the Governor after holding a hearing. The governor has also sought the UGC’s opinion regarding VCs of Open and Digital varsities. Open University VC Mubarak Pasha had earlier tendered his resignation to the Governor, but it was not accepted.
