Thrissur: Two children, who had been missing from Vellikulangara, Sasthampoovam tribal colony, Thrissur since March 2, were found dead on Saturday afternoon. The deceased were identified as Saji Kuttan (15), son of Kuttan, and Arun Kumar (8), son of Rajasekaran. The bodies were discovered lying 100 meters apart during a joint search operation conducted by the police and forest department.
According to reports, the children had been missing since the last Saturday (March 2), and the families initially refrained from filing a complaint, assuming both of them were at a relative’s house. It was only later that they realized the children were missing and filed a complaint with the Vellikulangara police. In response, police and forest officials launched a search operation on Friday. To enhance efficiency, officials formed seven teams of 15 members, to search the forest. Medical vehicles were also stationed at the location to handle any emergency situations.
The bodies will be transported to Chalakudy hospital, and the police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
