Wayanad: There is growing discontent within the INDI Alliance over Rahul Gandhi’s decision to contest from Wayanad, Kerala, in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. CPI leader Pannyan Raveendran stated that Rahul’s candidature in Wayanad will create confusion within the INDI Alliance. Pannyan Raveendran questioned the basis on which a candidate, who could potentially become the Prime Minister if the INDI Alliance secures a majority, is contesting against another constituent party within the INDI Alliance in Kerala
Pannyan Raveendran added that this exposes the Congress party’s immature approach.
Pannyan also suggested that Rahul should contest from the Amethi constituency in Uttar Pradesh. He further questioned the significance of contesting from Wayanad without contesting from Amethi.
Meanwhile, in response to Pannyan Raveendran’s criticism, Congress leader T Siddique stated that there is no INDI Alliance in Kerala, and the competition is between the UDF and LDF. Siddique added that Rahul is contesting from Wayanad as a Prime Ministerial candidate.
Siddique also emphasized that it is not a simple thing for the people of Wayanad to get the opportunity to vote for a PM candidate.
