Thiruvananthapuram: Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar has voiced concern over the plight of Kerala’s educated youth, who are struggling to secure employment despite their qualifications. Promising action, Rajeev Chandrasekhar assured candidates of the CPO (Civil Police Officer) rank list that he would advocate for an extension of its validity, which is set to expire on April 13. He pledged to discuss the matter with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

“It’s disheartening to see individuals with professional degrees having to endure hardships in securing employment opportunities. The Civil Police Officer (CPO) rank holders have been protesting for 34 days. They approached me while I was having breakfast at the Satyavilasam food court. I assured them of one thing: under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Kerala’s youth won’t have to face unemployment struggles. Every deserving individual will find employment through merit-based channels, not through undue influence. This is a guarantee from Modiji,” he wrote on Facebook.

The candidates informed the minister about the neglect they experienced and the lack of appointments despite available vacancies. Additionally, the minister requested information regarding the case filed by the All Kerala Police Constable Rank Holders Association, an organization representing candidates included in the rank list but still awaiting appointments. The Union Minister reassured them of his commitment to generate more employment opportunities for Kerala’s youth and to rectify this situation.

He observed a significant number of young individuals in Kerala who have completed graduation and post-graduation but are still awaiting job opportunities. Highlighting the need for more employers and employment avenues within Kerala, the minister emphasized the necessity to tap into the state’s human resource potential for the nation’s benefit. He affirmed his commitment to implementing necessary interventions to achieve this goal.

He further emphasized that employment opportunities extend beyond government jobs, highlighting the Modi government’s success in creating employment across various states. The Minister stressed the importance of Kerala benefiting from this initiative, asserting his mission to ensure that no youth in Kerala lacks job skills.
