Thiruvananthapuram: Thiruvananthapuram NDA candidate and Union Minister, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, visited Vizhinjam – a coastal area – and engaged in discussions with the local people there. The region organized a grand reception to welcome him. Rajeev Chandrasekhar assured them that the construction of the first phase of ‘pulimuttu’ (breakwaters) tetrapod seawalls for the breakwater structure at the Pozhiyoor Fishing Harbour, which was delayed due to detailed environmental analysis, will begin within the next three months.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar also added that he will convey the issues faced by the coastal people to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar assured that he will make all efforts to fulfill the needs of the coastal people by implementing Central government schemes.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar shared his discussions with the regional people on social media. In the post, he said that the local people requested construction of ‘pulimuttu’ for their lives and livelihoods. They also requested development for the region. The regional people sought investment projects that provide more employment opportunities and bring various developments to the region. During the discussion with Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the locals also said that their requirements were not fulfilled by both the LDF and UDF fronts.
After the discussion, Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that all their basic human rights will be fulfilled by the Modi government.
