Islamabad: The Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, while addressing a joint session of Pakistani Parliament said that Turkey supports Pakistan on the Kashmir issue and also promised his backing at the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), which seeks to prevent money laundering and terrorist funding.
Erdogan said, “Today, the issue of Kashmir is as close to us as it is to you.”
He added, “Like in the past, we will continue to support Pakistan in the future.”
Erdogan has been openly supporting Pakistan while most of the Muslim countries in the region have been sympathetic to the India. While Erdogan backed Pakistan in the General Assembly, Narendra Modi took a swift action and extended India’s support to enemies of Turkey such as Greece, Armenia and Cyprus.
The Turkish President has also backed Pakistan at the FATF which has put the country in the grey list and is in danger of falling in black list because Pakistan is not complying with FATF’s measures.
Pakistan is being considered as a failed state the world over and is being subjected to humiliation in the international arena. With Turkey’s backing Pakistan would not being gaining anything substantial.
