Billionaire Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft and the 4th richest man in the world, announces that he will contribute a large amount of his earnings to society. “I have an obligation to return my resources to society in ways that have the greatest impact for reducing suffering and improving lives. And I hope others in positions of great wealth and privilege will step up in this moment too”, Bill gates tweeted.

He had contributed his earnings for charities and other services earlier in 2010 too. But now, again his earnings have doubled more than half.

As per the figures published by the Forbes Magazine, Bill Gates has earnings of 118 billion Dollars. He will contribute his earnings to the Bill and Melinda Foundation, formed by Gates and his ex-wife Melinda.

He said “I am very proud of the foundation’s role in helping solve big problems like preventing pandemics, reducing childhood deaths, eradicating diseases, improving food security and climate adaptation, achieving gender equality, and improving educational outcomes”.

He also clarified that he will contribute all his earnings in the coming days and exit from the World Billionaires List.

“As I look to the future, I plan to give virtually all of my wealth to the foundation. I will move down and eventually off of the list of the world’s richest people”, Gates added.
