London: Indian origin Rishi Sunak and the external affairs minister Liz Truss have entered the final round of
selection to the post of British PM. The polling of conservative party members is yet to be completed and the name of the new PM will be announced on September 5. If he wins the election, Rishi Sunak will become the first Non- white leader in the history of the UK.

The entire world is impatiently looking forward to the results in which an Indian is in the leading position.

Rishi defeated 11 others who competed for the post.

He achieved the top position in the final round by getting the support of 137 MPs from the conservative party. The external affairs minister Liz Truss is his rival in this election.

1,60,000 members of the conservative party will choose the next PM through an election procedure.

Rishi Sunak was a close companion of Boris Johnson and the withdrawal of his support was said to be the actual reason for the fall of Johnson’s cabinet. This actually created a negative image to Sunak among the Tory members. At the same time, Liz Truss is dealing with the external affairs that have no direct connections with the people. This seems to be a game changer in the final round of selection.

Meanwhile, Rishi Sunak has received huge support in the opinion survey that was held on the last day. 48 percent of people supported Sunak. Liz Truss came in second position with 39 percent of votes.
