Mali: Religious extremist tried to kill the minister by stabbing him to death. The attack took place against the Minister of Environment, Climate & Technology and Jampuri party spokesperson Ali Sohan. He was admitted to the hospital due to serious injuries.
The incident occurred at Hulhulmaali on Monday while the minister was travelling by a two-wheeler. The culprit stopped the vehicle and stabbed him. Witnesses said that he had chanted Quran verses before stabbing the minister.
The attacker targeted to kill the minister by pointing the weapons towards his throat but it could not be done as the minister defended strongly. The minister got injuries on his hand and ears. After Sohal escaped from the attack, he was admitted to the hospital by the police.
Meanwhile, the police had captured the attacker. The footage of the attack is being circulated on social media platforms.
