Seoul: A North Korean military satellite crashed into the Yellow Sea earlier in the day due to an engine problem. As per media reports, it is expected that they will carry out their second launch “as soon as possible.”
The Nuclear-armed satellite that came in vicinity raised air raid sirens and mobile phone alerts in a call for evacuation and rattled the citizens of Seoul, South Korea. Even though the satellite failed and plunged into the sea, it raised evacuation warnings in parts of South Korea and Japan, said media reports.
According to media reports, North Korea launched “Malligyong-1,” the military reconnaissance satellite mounted on a new type of rocket called “Chollima-1.” The carrier rocket fell into the Yellow Sea after losing thrust due to an abnormal starting of the second-stage engine after the separation of the first stage during the normal flight. This was due to the use of an engine system with low stability and the type of fuel used in it.
As per reports, Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea, launched a record 37 missiles last year. This has continued with the launch of ballistic missiles this year, raising suspicions that North Korea is planning its eighth nuclear test in the near future.
