Pune: Despite a strong start, Bangladesh faced setbacks, losing four wickets for a total of 140 runs in the initial 30 overs of the match. In the World Cup match between Bharat and Bangladesh, Bangladesh gained a strong start after winning the toss and opting to bat first. In the initial 14 overs, Bangladesh scored a total of 93 runs without losing a wicket.

Opening batsmen Tansid Hasan and Liton Das laid a solid foundation for Bangladesh, exhibiting a cautious approach against the Indian bowlers. Tansid achieved a half-century, while Das led the scoring with 36 runs.

There are concerns looming in the Indian camp as all-rounder Hardik Pandya suffered a leg injury while bowling in the ninth over of the match. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) stated, “Hardik Pandya’s injury is being assessed at the moment, and he is being taken for scans.”

In the absence of the injured Shakib Al Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto stepped up to lead the Bangladesh team, while Bharat maintained an unchanged team.

Having secured three consecutive victories in the ongoing World Cup, Rohit Sharma-led Team India aims to sustain its unbeaten record against Bangladesh. Predictions suggest that the team batting first is expected to score more than 300.  The first-inning score has crossed 300 in five of the last seven matches here.
