Lewiston, US : At least 22 people were killed, and around 60 people were wounded in a series of mass shootings in Maine, USA. The shootings occurred on Wednesday evening at a local bar and a bowling alley in Lewiston, Maine’s second most populous city, according to local media reports. While there were initial reports of a shooting at a Walmart distribution center, a spokesperson for Walmart later clarified to the media that there was no shooting at the facility. It was locked down and searched by the police. The police have yet to confirm the number of casualties.

Although footage of the assailant has been captured on CCTV, he remains at large. The shots were fired from a semi-automatic rifle. In response to the situation, the Maine State Police have advised people to seek shelter in secure locations and refrain from leaving their homes. They have issued an advisory urging anyone who observes suspicious behavior to call 911. Additionally, the police have received a tip-off that the assailant is a young man named Robert Card. Some local media outlets have also reported that he has been taken into custody.
