Tehran: On Monday, Iran declared that it will breach its nuclear enrichment limit deal within 10 days if European nations do not save the nuclear deal which gave a respite to the sanctions which was imposed on Iran.
The Islamic Republic said that the European countries still had time to avert a major crisis by reviving the nuclear deal Iran made with major powers in 2015.
However, the US has indicated its displeasure at the move of the Iranians and said that their plan is a nuclear blackmail and that Iran’s move must be met by more international pressure. Britain said that they will look into options if Iran goes ahead with their plan to breach the enrichment limit.
Israel, which lives under the constant threat of the Islamic nation, urged the world’s power to set up sanctions against Iran quickly if it exceeds the enrichment limits.
However, European Union took a softer approach and said that the European nations would only react if the International Atomic Energy Agency identifies any violation of the enrichment limit by Iran.
The situation in the Middle East is getting dangerous each day with the stand-off between US and Iran continuing without respite. The US accused Tehran of attacking two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman last Thursday. Iran has however refused any involvement in the matter.
The attacks took place near the strategic Hormuz Strait, which is a vital route of oil supplies from Saudi Arabia and UAE to mostly Western countries. Iran has been threatening to block any transport of ships and tankers if US and its allies dare move against it.
After the US accusation, Iran’s Armed Forces Chief of Staff, Major General Mohammad Baqeri, said on Monday that if Iran wanted to block the Strait then it would do it publically.
