Bangkok (Thailand): Japan withdrew from the Thailand Open as their Men’s singles world number one Kento Momota tests positive for Covid-19. Badminton World Federation and Badminton Association of Thailand confirmed on Sunday that Momota has tested positive for Covid after undergoing a mandatory test at Narita Airport and is under treatment.
Following the result, Nippon Badminton Association has withdrawn from all its singles and doubles from Thailand Open.
Officials confirmed that the Thailand Open will continue ahead as planned.
