Former Pakistani cricketer Danish Kaneria has taken a critical stance on Indian cricketer Sanju Samson’s performance, particularly during the recent West Indies series. The Kerala-born player, who has been touted as a rising star, has faced Kaneria’s scrutiny for not making the most of the continuous opportunities provided to him.
Kaneria, who has been a staunch advocate of Sanju’s potential in the past, expressed his disappointment over the cricketer’s recent performance. Despite being a vocal supporter of the Keralite celeb, Kaneria minced no words in pointing out the lacklustre display during the West Indies series.
“Sad to say this about Sanju. He has had enough opportunities in the West Indies series. But he could not use it. It is his own fault,” said Kaneria, highlighting the missed chances for Samson to make a significant impact on the field.
Samson’s batting performance during the five-match T20 series against the West Indies came under scrutiny. In the three matches he batted, his scores were 12, 7, and 13, respectively. These numbers, according to Kaneria, not only affected Samson’s individual standing but also raised questions about his future with the Indian team.
