Thiruvananthapuram: In a period marked by a slight decline in SIM subscribers in Kerala, Reliance Jio has solidified its position as a frontrunner in acquiring new users. According to the latest Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) report, despite an overall decrease of 0.18 percent in the number of mobile subscribers in the state from October 2022 to October 2023, Jio witnessed a remarkable surge of 9.22 percent, adding 1,09,000 new subscribers to its network.
Nationally, Jio has notched up an impressive gain of nine lakh subscribers during the same period, pushing its total subscriber base from 97.5 lakh to 1 crore and 6 lakh. The TRAI report underscores Jio’s dominance in the telecom sector, as it secured its position as Bharat’s strongest network by acquiring a staggering 31.6 lakh new subscribers in October alone. Currently, an impressive 39 percent of SIM subscribers in the country are now part of the Jio network.
Notably, the broadband segment also witnessed growth, with Jio leading the way with an impressive increase of 42.58 percent. The telecom giant added more than 85,000 new customers to its broadband network during this period, further solidifying its presence in the market.
