Thiruvananthapuram: Thiruvananthapuram NDA candidate Rajeev Chandrasekhar criticized the Kerala government for not yet handing over the investigation into the mysterious death of Siddharth, a second-year Veterinary student found dead on February 18 at Pookode University.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar made these remarks to the media following his meeting with Siddharth’s father. Siddharth’s father stated that on March 9, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan promised to handing over the investigation to the CBI. He questioned whether the promise was made as part of a fake election campaign.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar pointed out that in cases where the decision to transfer to the CBI is made, all processes can be completed within 24 hours. However, the delay in transferring the case is due to the negligence of the Pinarayi government. Meanwhile, Siddharth’s father expressed concerns with Rajeev Chandrasekhar that the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU) Vice Chancellor’s decision to revoke the suspension of 33 Veterinary students, who were involved in Siddharth’s death, could lead to the destruction of evidence.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar questioned the University VC’s sudden decision to withdraw the suspension before the initiation of the CBI investigation.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that parents in Kerala are now afraid to send their children to colleges and universities due to such tragic incidents.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar stressed that Siddharth’s brutal death at the Veterinary University should not be forgotten, demanding justice for his family from the Pinarayi government. He emphasized that he would not allow Pinarayi Vijayan to evade responsibility in this case and urged justice for Siddharth’s family.
