K Surendran accuses Pinarayi government of discriminatory politics in Kerala; criticizes for not withdrawing Sabarimala cases alongside CAA protest cases

Wayanad: Kerala BJP State President K Surendran accused the Pinarayi government of practicing discriminatory politics in Kerala. Surendran mentioned that during the last State legislative assembly election, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had promised to withdraw police cases related to women’s entry in Sabarimala. However,  the government only withdrew cases against those who protested against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). This shows the political discrimination of the Pinarayi government, according to Surendran.

Surendran criticized the Pinarayi government’s biased approach, labeling it as injustice. He clarified that the police had registered cases against those who participated in the peaceful ‘Namajapa Yatra’ (a peaceful mantra-chanting procession) to protect the faith of Sabarimala believers. Surendran added that the cases filed against participants in the peaceful procession, including thousands of women participating in mantra chanting, had resulted in several imprisonments. He accused the government of intentionally targeting believers.

Surendran revealed his awareness of numerous cases filed against him, with most related to protesting to protect faith in Sabarimala. He stated that there are 234 cases against him and questioned whether the Pinarayi government would take a similar stand against any other party leaders.

Surendran pointed out that CPI(M)’s favouritism towards religious extremists is evident from this situation.

After the announcement of K Surendran as the NDA candidate for the Wayanad constituency, the Lok Sabha elections are now set for a strong contest. Wayanad people said that Surendran, who is well aware of the real problems facing the people of Wayanad, can serve the constituency better than someone who is not familiar with the local issues.
