Thiruvananthapuram: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts chances for heavy rain in the state today. A yellow alert has been issued to 4 districts including Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod.
The rainfall is due to the active monsoon winds in the Arabian sea.
The state will receive heavy rainfall ranging from 64.5mm to 115.5mm in 24 hours.
The northern Kerala districts will receive heaviest rainfall and chances for extreme wind of 40 – 50 kmph
The fishermen are advised not to venture into the Kerala – Lakshadweep coast until 04-07-2022 and the Karnataka coast till 02-07-2022.
