Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a sortie on a Tejas fighter aircraft in Bengaluru on Saturday during his visit to the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited site.

Sharing his exhilarating experience on the social media platform X, the Prime Minister expressed confidence in Bharat’s indigenous capabilities. In a post on X, he stated, “Successfully completed a sortie on the Tejas. The experience was incredibly enriching, significantly bolstering my confidence in our country’s indigenous capabilities, and leaving me with a renewed sense of pride and optimism about our national potential.”

Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, the Chief of the Indian Air Force, supervised the preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s maiden flight in the made-in-Bharat Tejas fighter aircraft. On the ground, the aircraft was expertly piloted by Indian Air Force test pilot Group Captain Debanjan Mandal, according to defense officials.
