Thiruvananthapuram: Union Minister of State for External Affairs & Parliamentary Affairs V Muraleedharan welcomed the court verdict awarding the death sentence to all 15 Popular Front of India (PFI) terrorists accused in the murder case of OBC Morcha State Secretary Adv Ranjith Srinivasan.

Muraleedharan wrote on Facebook that the brutal murder of Adv Ranjith Srinivasan was part of Islamic religious terrorism in Kerala. He added that all 15 PFI accused, who killed an innocent man in front of his mother and wife, do not deserve any mercy. The court verdict signifies the credibility of the country’s justice system. He added that those concerned about the death penalty should understand that there is no other answer to such religious terrorism.

Union Minister Muraleedharan said that Adv Ranjith Srinivasan would not have lost his life if the Kerala government had banned such religious extremists, PFI, at the time when Prof. TJ Joseph’s hand was cut. However, they are encouraging by the ruling and opposition parties in Kerala. Both parties are using religious extremism for the sake of their vote bank, the Minister said.

Muraleedharan added that the murder of Ranjith Srinivasan exposes the Home Ministry of Kerala for supporting religious extremists. He further mentioned that while the Narendra Modi government in the Central is trying to uproot and eradicate the anti-national organization like PFI, Kerala’s ruling and opposing parties are guarding them.

Muraleedharan highlighted that without political support, the prime accused in Prof. TJ Joseph’s hand-cut case, Savad, cannot lead a family life in Kerala for a long 13 years. Muraleedharan also added in the Facebook post that Kerala should at least realize now that if religious terrorism in the state is not considered a serious issue by the state government, the state will face consequences.

The incident to the case took place on December 19, 2021, at Ranjith Srinivasan’s residence in Vellakkinar, Alappuzha, where armed PFI terrorists brutally murdered him in front of his wife and mother.
