Thiruvananthapuram: Reports indicate that lakhs of people have already come to Thiruvananthapuram to participate in the Pongala celebrations. The Municipal Corporation and police have stated that they have implemented several restrictions to avoid traffic congestion.
To manage the traffic congestion, strict restrictions have been imposed, including a ban on heavy vehicles entering the capital city until 8 p.m. tonight. Additionally, parking the vehicles near the temple area ,MC and MG roads, is strictly prohibited. Authorities warn that vehicles violating these regulations will be towed away using recovery vehicles.
After the conclusion of the Pongala rituals, special KSRTC services will be provided, including additional trains services scheduled from 2:30 pm onwards, facilitating devotees’ return to various villages and regions across the state. Special train services have also been arranged for those who have travelled from distant locations to attend the festival.
