Tiruchi: Co-founder of tech giant, Infosys, Kris Gopalakrishnan, said that the downturn in the IT sector is only temporary fueled by economic downturn at the global level. He added that the economic cycle would turn for the better.
Kris Gopalakrishnan was speaking at the inauguration of Third-i, a new computer center at National Institute of Technology at Tiruchi.
He said, “The IT industry itself is financially strong and capable. There is no planned layoffs in the IT sector. But performance-related separations are inevitable in the competitive scenario. But even those sent out find jobs within the sector owing to their experience.”
The Infosys former CEO said that India holds the leadership of IT services and applications field. Also, that the IT sector gained revenue of $130-$140 billion from exports, providing good exchange, and employment.
