New Delhi: A government data released by the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI) shows that the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) increased by 1.8% on-year to 128.4 during the month of November.
The IIP had grown only by 0.2% corresponding to the same month in 2018.
Also, the industrial growth registered a growth of 0.6% in the period April to November compared to the corresponding period a year ago.
The rise in industrial output was mainly due to a rise in the manufacturing sector.
The manufacturing sector had grown 2.7% to reach 130.2 during the month of November 2019. The growth of manufacturing sector during November, 2019, has been good, when compared to the same period in 2018.
In 2018, the industrial output had actually contracted by 0.7%.
The mining sector had a growth of 1.7% at 112.5 during November, 2019. However, the growth rate was less compared to November, 2018. Electricity sector also witnessed negative growth.
