Mumbai: Mumbai witnessed its lowest night temperature of the season on Wednesday, as reported by the Indian Meteorology Department’s (IMD) Santacruz observatory, registering 19.4 degrees Celsius, one degree below the normal range. Simultaneously, the maximum temperature remained at 32.8 degrees, also below the seasonal average.
This occurrence marks the second instance this year where the IMD recorded a temperature below 20 degrees, the first being on November 30 when it noted 19.7 degrees. IMD officials anticipate a gradual dip in temperatures over the next week.
In the Coastal observatory at Colaba, the minimum temperature recorded was 21.5 degrees, with the maximum temperature reaching 30.8 degrees.
Adding to the unusual weather patterns, Mumbai experienced unseasonal rains this month. Both Santacruz and Colaba reported total rainfall of 8 mm and 39 mm, respectively, so far in December.
