Gandhinagar: Security has been beefed up at Kandla Port in Gujarat after intelligence inputs suggested that ‘Pakistani commandoes are likely to infiltrate into Indian territory through Kutch area through sea route’.
Border Security Force and the Indian Coast Guard have been put on high alert at all ports.
The infiltration is likely to take place through the sea to create a communal disturbance or terrorist attack in Gujarat. Security agencies are directed to remain alert and carry out patrolling along the seaports, sources said.
Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Karambir Singh had disclosed earlier this week that input suggested Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terror group was giving training to terrorists to carry out “underwater attacks”. The Chief, however, has assured that the Indian Navy is completely prepared to deal any such attempt.
