Panaji: Indigenously built Indian fighter jet, Tejas, took off from a small runway today in Goa, passing a successful test. The test was conducted before it was inducted to the Indian Navy.
This is for the first time that the twin-seater prototype of Tejas jet is being tested. The main objective of the test was to probe its ability to take off and land on the Navy’s Aircraft Carrier.
India built the technology for landing on small runways, indigenously, like that on an Aircraft Carrier.
Tejas had completed the arrested landing test on 13 September.
