Armed Forces Flag Day : PM Modi extends wishes to Indian Forces

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his wishes to the Indian Forces on the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day.

Prime Minister took to Twitter with a video and tweeted, ” On Armed Forces Flag Day we salute the indomitable courage of our forces and their families. I also urge you to contribute towards the welfare of our forces.”

In the 59th edition of ‘Mann ki Baat’ programme, PM Modi had said “We should never forget that Armed Forces Flag Day is celebrated on December 7. This is the day when we pay homage to ur brave soldiers, for their valour, their sacrifices, and also contribute.”

December 7 is a day dedicated to India towards collection of funds from people of India for the welfare of the Indian Armed Forces personnel, which has been observing since 1949.

The Flag day is mainly observed to serve three basic purposes rehabilitation of battle casualties, welfare of serving personnel and their families, resettlement and welfare of ex-servicemen and their families.
