Jammu: A total of fifty terrorists have been neutralized this year, that includes several top commanders of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) in counter terrorism operations by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir this year, said officials.
At the same time, India lost 17 security forces personnel during the battle against terrorists.
According to reports, of the 50 terrorists, 18 were killed during the ongoing coronavirus lockdown.
Four terrorists, including district commander of LeT Muzaffar Ahmed Bhat, were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Dialgam area of Anantnag district in south Kashmir on March 15, officials told PTI.
On April 9, top Jaish-e-Mohammed commander Sajad Nawab Dar was killed by security forces in Sopore in Baramulla district in north Kashmir.
