New Delhi: Army Chief General MM Naravane visited Leh on Friday to review the ongoing situation with the field commanders owing to the rising tensions with China along the Line of Actual Control.
He was briefed by the top military field Commanders in Leh, including Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General YK Joshi and 14 Corps Chief Lieutenant General Harinder Singh, news agency ANI reported.
According to sources, there is stand-off situation at three locations including the Galwan Nala area where over 300 troops each from the Chinese side have come to stake claim.
The stand offs have taken place mainly due to Indian road construction activities in the Galwan Nala area and DBO sector, which has been severely opposed by China.
Sources say that it was only after Chinese infrastructure development that Indian side also built proper network of roads on its side of the LAC using the Border Roads Organisation.
