New Delhi: Indian Army Chief MM Naravane on Monday visited forward areas along the India-Pakistan international border in the Jammu region. He reviewed the security preparedness of the troops.
Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, GOC, Rising Star Corps briefed the COAS on the operational preparedness, up-gradation of security infrastructure, and internal security matters.
“The Army chief arrived in a fixed-wing aircraft at the technical airport in Jammu and then visited Tiger Division from where he flew into the chopper to the forward areas to take stock of security scenario and to review operational preparedness of the troops,” said a senior Army officer.
Gen Naravane also reiterated ‘zero tolerance policy’ against the ceasefire violations by Pakistan and infiltration bid by terrorists. Through video conferencing, he addressed all ranks of Western Command and expressed his complete confidence in Indian Army’s capabilities to foil any misadventure by the adversaries.
