New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday held a meeting with the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) and three service chiefs — Indian Air Force, Army and Navy to review the security and the ongoing scenario on the Line of Actual Control.
The crucial meeting was also attended by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, that lasted for two hours.
The meeting comes a day after External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, held crucial talks in Moscow on the escalating tension in eastern Ladakh.
On Thursday, both the countries came to a mutual agreement on a five-point plan for resolving the tension.
“The two foreign ministers agreed that the current situation in the border areas is not in the interest of either side. They agreed, therefore, that the border troops of both sides should continue their dialogue, quickly disengage, maintain proper distance and ease tensions,” the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.
