Mumbai [Maharashtra]: Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut’s next is a political drama. The yet to be named movie will be bank rolled by Kangana’s production house- Manikarnika Productions- and will be written and directed by Sai Kabir who has worked with Kangana in “Revolver Rani”.
The news was announced by Ranaut through her social media handles. She will essay the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Talking about the announcement, Ranaut in a statement released by her office said, “Yes, we are working on the project and the script is in final stages. it is not a biopic of Indira Gandhi, it is a grand period film, to be precise a political drama that will help my generation to understand (the) socio-political landscape of current India”.
“Many prominent actors will be part of this film and of course I am looking forward to playing the most iconic leader that we have had in the history of Indian politics”, read the statement.
The film will have actors portraying the roles of Sanjay Gandhi, Rajeev Gandhi, Morarji Desai and Lal Bahadur Shastri. The actors who will play these roles are not yet confirmed.
