Narendra Damodardas Modi has become an epitome of world leaders. Indeed, it’s a proud moment for the Indian citizens especially the youths of the country who can aspire a successful life by setting an example of the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s life is truly an inspiration. He was born on 17 September 1950 to a Gujarati family in Vadnagar. As a child, he used to sell tea at a tea stall and later it is said that he ran his own tea stall.

As a child, Narendra Modi dreamt of serving in the Indian Army. He wanted to study in the Sainik school located nearby Jamnagar but couldn’t join because there was no money to pay the fees at home.

Modi was introduced to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at an early age of eight. By 1971, he became a full-fledged worker of the RSS. In 1975, when the emergency was declared by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Modi was forced to go hiding. Later in 1985 he was assigned to Bharatiya Janata Party and held several positions and rose to the general secretary. After L. K. Advani became president of the BJP in 1986, the RSS decided to place its members in important positions within the BJP; Modi’s work during the Ahmedabad election led to his selection for this role, and Modi was elected organising secretary of the BJP’s Gujarat unit later in 1987.

However, he took a brief break from politics in 1992 and established a school in Ahmedabad. On the insistence of L.K.Advani, he joined the electoral politics in 1994 as the party secretary and Modi’s electoral strategy was considered central in the party to acclaim victory for BJP in 1995.

In 1978, Modi got a degree in Political Science with a third class. However, he earned a first-class in Master of Arts in Political Science in 1983.

When most teenagers think about their career at the age of 17, Narendra Modi decided to leave home for travelling across India. This decision changed the course of his life as during his travel he came across many cultures of India and met different people. During this period he also visited the Himalayas and spent almost two years as a sanyasi with the yogic sadhus. These travels marked a lasting impression on the young Modi. He is a great follower of Swami Vivekananda.

On 7 October 2001 Modi sworn in as the Chief Minister of Gujarat amid some tensions in the party. During his tenure as the Chief Minister, in 2005 the USA denied a visa to Modi on the allegation that he has failed to curb the communal riots. Modi’s prominence in India forced the UK and EU to lift the ban in October 2012 and March 2013 respectively. And when he got elected as the Prime Minister, Modi was invited to Washington.

In the year 2010, when Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, United Nations awarded Gujarat as the 2nd best state in the world. He never took a holiday while being a chief minister and remained a workaholic.

Narendra Modi, the Prime of India is a man of courage, determined to take India to new heights. Highly talented and trained, he enjoys doing whatever he does. His multi-tasking ability to travel the world over for tie-ups, administering the country through welfare schemes, keeping in touch with the common man through social media etc., makes even his political rivals to admire him.

As the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi managed a steady growth of the Indian economy by increasing foreign investment from many countries. He emerged as a confident leader and a bold administrator as evident from his speeches, policies and schemes. He also reduced corporate taxes and custom duties on many goods. His successful campaigns included Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Digital India campaign, ‘Housing for all by 2022’ campaign, and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. In September 2014, he initiated ‘Make in India’ campaign to promote growth manufacturing of products in India. To eradicate black money and use of fake currency, demonetization of 500 and 1000 rupee currency was undertaken under his leadership with an aim to stop corruption and terrorism in India on November 2017.

He launched a mission– “Swacch Bharat Mission” to spread the awareness of cleanliness among the masses.

Narendra Modi is also credited with the introduction of Goods and Service Tax (GST) in July 2017. He also introduced certain policies and programs like “Make in India” which encouraged foreign companies for manufacturing various goods in India.

Modi believes in ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’. Narendra Modi is a charismatic leader, who is primarily concerned with the development of the country. He promotes the unity of India above religion or politics. Poised to transform India into a superpower, Narendra Modi continues to work tirelessly for the welfare of the nation.

“Coming age is the age of knowledge. However, rich, poor or powerful a country be, if they want to move ahead, only knowledge can lead them to that path,” he emphasizes.

Narendra Modi has turned out to be one of the great leaders in the world with a span of 5 years.

We wish our dearest Prime Minister Narendra Modi a very happy birthday.

Jai Hind! Vande Mataram.
