New Delhi: Just ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress party National Spokesperson Gourav Vallabh has resigned from the Congress party. In a letter sent to Congress party President Mallikarjun Kharge, Gourav Vallabh stated that he cannot oppose ‘Sanatana Dharma’ and cannot continue in this directionless manner. The letter also outlined several reasons which the Congress party has wrongly embraced.
In the letter addressed to Mallikarjun Kharge, Gourav Vallabh also mentioned that the Congress party is now without any clear purpose for the country’s development. He expressed disagreement with the Congress party’s stance on issues, including the caste-based census, stating that the party is currently moving in the wrong direction.
Gourav Vallabh further mentioned that the current form of the Congress party is unable to align itself with the youth and their new ideas. Therefore, in this situation, he does not wish to continue in this manner, Gourav Vallabh said.
In the letter, he mentioned his resignation from all positions and primary membership of the Congress party.
Gourav Vallabh contested the 2023 Rajasthan Assembly Elections from Udaipur as a Congress candidate. However, in Udaipur, the BJP candidate, Tarachand Jain, won the seat with a substantial lead of more than 32,000 votes.
The petition pointed that Veena Vijayan and her company, Exalogic Solutions, received money illegally from the Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL) company in connection with the Kerala government granting permission for sand mining to the CMRL. It is alleged that she received the money as a favour in return.
