A temple dedicated to M G Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa, was unveiled in Tamil Nadu by Chief Minister K Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and thrown open for the public.
Life size bronze statues of MGR and Jayalalithaa were unveiled by Palaniswami and Panneerselvam. A large number of party workers gathered for the event.
The shrine is an initiative of Revenue Minister R B Udhayakumar, who is also the AIADMK wing ‘Amma Peravai’s’ secretary. It is located on a 12-acre site at T Kunnathur in Madurai District.
Palaniswami and Panneerselvam, hailed the two late leaders and recalled the welfare measures initiated during their tenures.
CM Palaniswami recalled the opening of a phoenix themed memorial at the Marina beach in Chennai and declaring her residence in the state capital a memorial.
