The State Disaster Respond Fund (SDRF) visited a lake which was formed near Raini village at a height of 4,200 meters. The glacier burst that caused the flood has led to the formation of the lake.

“A team was sent to check the lake and there is no danger as the water is continuously getting discharged,” said Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar

He also said that the search for the missing people is still on and they are clearing out the debris from the smaller tunnel.

“Villages have lost connectivity as five bridges got destroyed due to the flood. The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is working on Bailey bridge and the connectivity to the villages will resume. The search for the missing people has been extended till Haridwar as a body was recovered in Maithana,” said DGP Ashok Kumar
