Tibetans in exile celebrated their 108th anniversary of Tibetan Independence Day in Dharamshala. The Students for Free Tibet (SFT) held an event ‘Raise Tibetan National Flag’ in Mcleodganj, Dharamshala.
On February 13, 1913, Dalai Lama declared Tibetan independence in the declaration of the ‘Proclamation of Independence’ and since then Tibetans mark February 13 as an important day.
“Despite the efforts of China’s futile exercise to erase Tibetan history, they have never been successful to erase our past. Tibet will remain an independent country and that is the message we want to give to the Chinese Communist Party,” said Rinzin Choedon, National Director, Students for Free Tibet.
