A bus going from Sidhi to Satna, carrying around 57 passengers fell into a canal in Sidhi after the driver lost control over it. Seven people have been rescued.
“As many as 39 bodies have been recovered from the bus accident site. The search operation is underway and the search in the canal also started,” said Ravindra Kumar Choudhary, District collector.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan called for a meeting to discuss about the incident and two ministers will also be visiting the bus accident site.
PM Modi approved ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakhs each from PMNRF for the next of kin of those who have lost their lives due to the bus accident and Rs 50,000 would be given to those seriously injured.
