Tamilisai Soundararajan, who holds position the position of Telangana Governor, formally took additional charge as Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry.
Chief Minister of the state V Narayanasamy was present at the ceremony and he welcomed the newly appointed Lieutenant Governor.

Kiran Bedi was removed from her post as Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry by President Ram Nath Kovind.
