Forest Department personnel rescued an elephant which entered Midnapore city and hid inside Medical college and Hospital premises.
“An elephant entered into Midnapore town and hid inside Midnapore Medical College and Hospital premises. As soon as we received the information, Police personnel were deployed to control the situation as people started coming to see the elephant,” said AP Singh, Chief Conservator of Forest of western circle.
The elephant was tranquilized by forest officials and loaded using a crane in a truck and transported to the Arabari forest. No causalities were reported during the incident. The elephant will be kept under observation and then released into the forest.
