Schedule for Assembly Elections in Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerala

Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora made the announcement of the schedule for the Assembly elections in West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry.

Assam assembly elections to be held in 3 phases- 1st phase of polling- 27th March, second phase polling-1st April and third phase of polling-6th April.

Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will have a single phase election on 6th April.

Bengal will have 8-phase elections. First phase of polling on March 27, second phase of polling on April 1, third phase of polling on April 6, fourth phase of polling on April 10, fifth phase of polling on April 17, sixth phase polling on April 22, seventh phase is on April 26 and final phase polling will be on April 29.

Counting of votes in all states going to polls will be held on 2nd May. The results of the elections will be declared on May 2. All poll officials will be vaccinated against COVID19 before elections.

Door-to-door campaigning to be restricted to five persons including candidate, roadshows can be held. Roadshows for campaigns will be allowed provided that the convoy is broken after every five vehicles. The final decision will lie with the local CEO.

Arrangements to be in place for candidates to file nominations online for five assembly polls, voting to be allowed for extra one hour.
