Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu was detained by the police at Renigunta airport, Tirupati, while he was going to attend election campaign in the Chitoor District.
He entered into an argument with the police and staged a sit-in protest at the airport against the police behavior.
Renigunta Sub Divisional Police Officer has served notice of detention to Chandrababu Naidu.
“There is no information if Chandrababu Naidu has taken the permission of election Commission. Election Model Code of Conduct and Section 30 of police act are in implementation. In order to maintain law and order, he will be detained,” the detention notice read.
