President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the citizens on the occasion of Maha Shivratri.
“Best wishes to all countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri. Celebrated as a sacred remembrance of the marriage of Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva, this festival should be beneficial for the whole of humanity,” tweeted President Kovind.
“Greetings on the special occasion of Mahashivratri. Har Har Mahadev,” tweeted PM Modi.
Lakhs of devotees from different parts of the country took a holy dip in the river Ganga at Har ki Pairi in Haridwar on the occasion of Maha Shivratri. Over 20 lakh devotees have taken holy dip at Har Ki Pauri.
