A meeting was held today at the Central Election Committee (CEC) of the Bharatiya Janata Party today (March 17) to finalise candidates for the remaining four phases of West Bengal Assembly polls.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda.
Earlier BJP has released names of 112 candidates for the first four phases of West Bengal Assembly polls. It has also finalized almost all the candidates for polls in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and Puducherry.
The Election Commission of India announced that West Bengal will see eight-phase election. First phase of polling on March 27, second phase of polling on April 1, third phase of polling on April 6, fourth phase of polling on April 10, fifth phase of polling on April 17, sixth phase polling on April 22, seventh phase is on April 26 and final phase polling will be on April 29.
